Kadena Names are a service that provides improved user experience when sending KDA and sharing your address. Instead of using a long string or random letters, accounts can be tied to a short human-readable name, like "koalawallet.kda". As of version 1.1.1 Koala Wallet natively supports sending to Kadena Names.
When sending, simply enter the receiver's Kadena Name as the destination address. In a fraction of a second the associated k: address will be loaded and displayed below the name. The address is loaded directly from the Kadena Names service, thus cannot be manually edited.
It's also possible to save a Kadena Name to your contacts list. It works just like adding a normal address, but the associated address will not be saved. It will be loaded whenever you start making a transaction to it, so the saved data is never out of date.
Please be aware that Kadena Names' registrations expire after a certain number of years. You are prevented from sending to unregistered or expired Kadena Names, but expired names can later be claimed by a different person afterwards. You may want to check with the receiver if they still control their Kadena Name if you got it a while ago.
Registering your own Kadena Name with your Koala Wallet account will be possible in a future update.
